Update May 2026: the trail map has not been updated to reflect the fact that the position of Belper library has changed, it is now on Derwent Street. Additionally, the Spike Milligan poem has been removed from its site by the river Derwent Mills because of fears of vandalism while the building was unoccupied – it will be restored and probably re-sited in due course. The Yeats poetry lettering on the steps in the Parks is difficult to see now, as age and weathering are eroding the steps; we are considering how best to restore / replace these lines of poetry.

Please note: we ask that you visit the Short Row plaque alone or with just one other person. This is to avoid any disturbance of the privacy and quiet of nearby residents in this narrow cul-de-sac. Thank you
